ABOUT US
COM.IT.ES. (Committee of Italians Abroad) serves as the representative body for Italians living abroad in their interactions with diplomatic and consular missions. These committees are established and governed by Italian Law 286/2003.
COMITES plays a crucial role in identifying the social, cultural, and civic needs of the local Italian community. It collaborates with consular authorities, organizations, and associations to build relevant initiatives in these domains.
COMITES also promotes, in collaboration with the consular authority, with the entities and associations operating within the consular district, appropriate initiatives in matters relating to social and cultural life, with particular regard to the participation of young people, equal opportunities, social and school assistance, professional training, recreational activities , sport and free time.
The COM.IT.ES. of Houston, in its current composition, was elected in December 2021 . It is made up of 12 elected members plus one appointed member. Represents Italians residing in the consular district of the Consulate General of Italy in Houston which includes the following states:

The members of COM.IT.ES. remain in office for five years and are elected by citizens registered with AIRE (Registry of Italians Resident Abroad). They carry out their task in the COM.IT.ES. on a completely voluntary basis.
The Comites are established and regulated by Law 286/2003.
